Day 6

Today we went to the Eastwood Metro Park to hike and kayak. When we got there we were split into two groups one went hiking first while the other group kayaks then we would switch after lunch.I am going to talk about my experience kayaking. At first we were shown how to secure our life vest with a buddy. We also were showed the proper method of holding the paddle by the "shaft" and don't hit someone with the blade.

The water was dark and murky like liquid dirt. The wake of the boat creating miniature mountains if only for a moment. Broken trees rise above the water like the arms of the deceased begging to be pulled from their watery grave. The  leaves reach down as if trying to kiss the surface of the river.
The spray from each paddle kisses my cheek like a cloud old yet soft like the caress of feathers. A dog jumped into the water causing tsunami like waves and almost  capsizes me. He felt  like wet velvet soft yet cool fun to touch but run when he shakes. I felt my shoulders ache but because of how fun it was I didn't feel it until we were on the bus coming back. I know want to buy a kayak and go back every other day. DSCN4007.JPG
